UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Health Care Compliance Auditor for a hybrid role based in Albany, NY. The position is currently remote, but a hybrid schedule may be required in the future. Candidates with Linkedin accounts are preferred.

Position: The Health Care Compliance Auditor will work independently and collaboratively with team members to evaluate the performance of Social Adult Day Cares (SADC) across New York State. The role involves assessing compliance with Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) regulations through documentation reviews and virtual on-site visits. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Location:

  • Hybrid role based in Albany, NY. Currently remote but may require hybrid work in the future.

SCOPE OF SERVICES:
As a Health Care Compliance Auditor, your responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating compliance with applicable regulations through documentation reviews and virtual on-site visits.

  • Clearly communicating evaluation requirements and following up in writing.

  • Reviewing and evaluating documentation against State and Federal regulations.

  • Collecting data and documentation to support compliance findings.

  • Utilizing technology to convert hard copy documentation into electronic format.

  • Recording, summarizing, and conveying compliance findings through written communication for the SADC program.

  • Assisting in identifying trends in non-compliance and making timely recommendations to project leads or managers.

  • Supporting the ongoing functioning of project processes and procedures.

  • Assisting with internal and external reporting related to SADC HCBS compliance reviews.

  • Performing any additional tasks requested by the client.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered.

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare management, psychology, human services, business administration, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Healthcare Compliance Analyst, Auditor, Care Manager, or Medicaid Provider in a role responsible for conducting compliance audits, chart reviews, or ensuring quality of care.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, customer service relationship techniques, and accuracy with attention to detail.

  • Experience monitoring or auditing program compliance.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, and MS SharePoint.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict performance standards.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of and experience interpreting state and federal regulations, with a focus on compliance activities of third parties.

  • Experience working with NYS Department of Health (DOH), Office of Mental Health (OMH), Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), or Office of Children and Families (OCFS).

  • Strong process-oriented and results-driven work strategy.

  • Ability to foster teamwork with management and staff while demonstrating active listening skills.

  • Experience working both independently and collaboratively within a team.

REQUIREMENT:

  • Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
