Java Technical Lead

UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Java Technical Lead with 10-15 years of experience to work 100% remotely supporting backend services, automation, and Salesforce integrations. Candidates with active Linkedin accounts are preferred.

Position

The Java Technical Lead will be responsible for developing Java applications to automate tasks and build backend web services for data retrieval and transmission. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Java 8, Salesforce integrations, and REST APIs, and must be capable of working independently across multiple projects.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Note: Candidates who do not meet the minimum experience requirement will not be considered.

  • 10–15 years of experience developing large Java/J2EE applications

  • Strong knowledge of Java 8

  • Experience with MS SQL Server 2016–2020, including stored procedures and database design

  • Proven ability to multi-task, manage priorities, and operate independently

  • Experience making REST calls to third-party APIs

  • Proficient with JSON, AJAX, REST, and OAuth (JWT)

  • Skilled in writing application documentation

  • Experience with GIT and Jira

  • Hands-on experience writing Apex code and test classes in Salesforce

  • Experience with Salesforce Object Management

  • Skilled in creating flows using Vlocity Omniscript Designer

  • Experience with Box integration with Java and Salesforce

 

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Salesforce:

    • SOQL, SOSL

    • Lightning Experience Administration

    • Lightning Pages

    • Salesforce Bulk Data Import

    • Copado

  • Experience using JetBrains IntelliJ IDE

  • Experience with IBM HATS 8.0

  • Skilled in resolving production and performance issues

  • Experience working in Agile SCRUM and Waterfall methodologies

  • Experience with DocuSign integration

  • Pension System experience preferred

 

SCOPE OF SERVICES / TASKS:

  • Design and develop Java-based applications for task automation

  • Build and maintain backend web services for data transfer and system integrations

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and set project priorities

  • Integrate third-party APIs and services via REST and OAuth

  • Work closely with Salesforce for Apex development, object management, and custom flows

  • Maintain project documentation and source control using Jira and GIT
