Mainframe Payroll Integration Systems Developer
UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Mainframe Payroll Integration Systems Developer for an onsite role in New York City. Must have a LinkedIn account.
Position: The Mainframe Payroll Integration Systems Developer will be responsible for supporting tasks related to system changes, debugging batch issues, and performing migrations using ClearQuest and ClearCase. The developer will work closely with Tech Support, assisting with deployments, disaster recovery, and ensuring smooth migration across testing environments. This position will ensure all payroll changes resulting from the PeopleTools upgrade are properly implemented, following agency procedures.

SCOPE OF SERVICES:
As a Mainframe Payroll Integration Systems Developer, your responsibilities include:
Analyzing and developing Payroll System changes due to the PeopleTools upgrade project.
Supporting all tasks related to setting up, modifying, and running inbound/outbound interfaces during the upgrade.
Working closely with Tech Support on debugging and resolving batch-related issues during the upgrade.
Using the ClearQuest Change Management software package to migrate production mainframe objects.
Managing the migration of mainframe objects to various test environments.
Conducting post-production migrations to backfill test environments with the latest code and related objects.
Compiling, linking, and binding COBOL programs in all test environments.
Verifying proper documentation by the Applications teams.
Delivering all elements of migrations with specific instructions to Tech Support.
Participating in disaster recovery tasks and documenting any issues.
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered.
Experience compiling, linking, and binding COBOL programs.
Experience with Rational ClearQuest and ClearCase.
Experience using TSO/ISPF.
Proficiency with JCL (Job Control Language).
Strong understanding of standard system development life cycle methodologies.
Knowledge of DB2, IMS DB/DC.
Familiarity with MS-Word and Excel.
Experience working in Configuration Management with mainframe or midrange computer systems.
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Experience with PeopleSoft.
Experience with UNIX.
Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a Technical/Business discipline is required.
