SCOPE OF SERVICES:
As a Project Manager, responsibilities include:
Effectively communicating and sharing project vision with project teams, sponsors, and executive-level managers using reports, presentations, email, and collaboration tools.
Providing strong leadership for multiple project teams.
Organizing, prioritizing, and documenting personal and project team work.
Negotiating within and outside the organization, including various NYS agencies.
Aligning team members, sponsors, and stakeholders with project goals by clarifying roles and responsibilities, delegating work, handling conflict, evaluating performance, and coaching team members.
Creating and maintaining project schedules using established scheduling software (MS Project).
Identifying, communicating, and documenting risks, and developing plans for mitigation.
Developing and maintaining all standard project management artifacts for a complex cybersecurity project.
Applying structured problem-solving skills by gathering data and presenting solutions.
Implementing structured change management processes for project changes.
Facilitating and leading project meetings, Scrums, knowledge transfers, and executive status reporting sessions remotely and in person.
Supporting procurement and deliverable management tasks.
Partnering with other managers to ensure effective implementation of project goals and collaboration efforts.
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
Experience as a Project Manager supporting and overseeing complex technology projects.
Experience managing technology projects requiring coordination between IT groups, vendors, and agency stakeholders.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence change and manage relationships.
Experience leading multiple projects simultaneously or managing large multi-million-dollar programs.
Proficiency in project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Sciences, Engineering, or a technical background preferred but not required.
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Prior work with New York State PMP or similar project management certification.
Cybersecurity knowledge or experience.
Program Manager experience on large-scale IT projects.
Experience with procurement management and deliverable management.
Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Teams, and CISCO WebEx for project coordination.
