Technical Field Support Consultant
UNIVERSAL Technologies is hiring a Technical Field Support Consultant for a hybrid role in Albany, NY. Candidates must be able to travel statewide approximately 3 days a week and work 2 days remotely.
Candidates must be able to pass a Mandatory ITS Security Agreements and Fingerprint-based Background Check and sign an NDA. Candidates must have a clean NYS Drivers License.
Position: The Technical Field Support Consultant will provide technical consulting and operational support services to multiple counties throughout NY State. The technical site field consultant will be responsible for field support related to cabling identification, PC, Server, VoIP Phones, Wireless Access Points (WAP’s), and data/network communications equipment installation, relocation and removal.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree with Math, Sciences, Engineering, or Technical background.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Minimum 4 years’ experience installing and troubleshooting PC's, Printers, Servers, Data Communications Equipment, and Data cables.
Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting and troubleshooting VoIP telephony. And Wireless Access Points (WAP’s)
Experience creating site survey documentation including photography and data closet information.
Ability to assess and analyze worksite environments.
Experience with networking including equipment and connectivity.
SCOPE OF SERVICES:
Complete site survey documentation (site survey workbook, etc.)
Document the site environment through photographs
Provide rack and/or data closet information leveraging templated documentation.
With client guidance and oversight, the consultant will assess the current environment and perform a needs analysis to ensure the site has the necessary equipment to function as required.
Assist in performing network equipment installation, relocation, and removal.
Provide support for onsite equipment, such as Workstations (PC’s), Servers, VoIP Phones, Wireless Access Points (WAP’s).
Identify and install/deinstall support for networking and data communications equipment.
Provide field support for rack and stack and identification associated to network connectivity.
Provide site survey support, basic site survey preparation, cable connectivity, troubleshooting.
Provide network assistance, inventory, and asset control oversight.
